I am just so pissed that I was going to post this to Face Book, then thought better of it. I will write the "rest of the story" later, but needed to vent at the latest in the PC Philippines medical office incompetency.
This was my FB post:
Thankfully, the vascular specialist returned today - 2 days after he released me. He released me on Tuesday, but neither the Peace Corps nor my attending doc have followed up, or been seen since Tuesday noon. Hence, I am still in hospital on Thursday afternoon! Emailed PC this morning , asking what was going on and they replied an hour later via text: "Hi. How are you"? Thought you were to be discharged yesterday. Are you being discharged today?"
I am so done with this incompetency and butt covering...finishing a Bruce Willis flick and going to kick some ass! I really have tried to become like the river and let things flow over me, through me and around me - but I hate recurrent incompetency....although trying to cover it up and blame someone else is even worse.
Will be spending time in Manila writing to Washington DC I think - this really has got to stop. I hear that other PCMOs in other countries can be good - this especially seems to be the case if there is an American doctor on staff - or at least one who studied in America. That has not been the case here and the incompetencies have really pissed me off before.
However, this escapade has really taken the cake from the get-go and frankly, the medical mistakes have been life-threatening and consequences still unfolding; the communication issues laughable if they hadn't been so upsetting.
And, after writing all this and waiting for an email, a text, a call, or a visit from the Peace Corps - or a doctor - I am still waiting.
Ah, but the Bruce Willis flick just ended -
lots of casualties, but the good guys won....we'll see.
